Aurore Thibout is a French artist and fashion designer.
Born in Paris in 1979, she graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Fashion Design, and from the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs .
Aurore explores the possibility of capturing ephemeral memories and fleeting moments through her design research, which was first shown at the Felt Museum of Mouzon (France) in 2002. In 2006, she won the Public Grand Prix Award with her Memory collection at The 21st Hyeres International Fashion Festival.
Her work has recently been featured at the Athens Atopos Museum, La Cité internationale de la Dentelle in Calais, and the Drexel University in Philadelphia, among others. In 2010 Aurore was awarded a one-year residency in Les Ateliers de Paris, where she developed her work in her studio in the heart of Paris – Bastille.
Aurore Thibout completed her residency in winter 2011. Aurore created a collection of porcelain jewelry, a silk crêpe dress fastened with a tromp l’oeil aluminum medallion cast with Artworks Foundry, and three large hydrocal sculptures that were cast in The Workshop.
